India leads in Mobile Gaming

Mobile Gaming

India is the emerging leader amongst the Asian countries in the Mobile Gaming industry with figures touching $80 million in 2007. As more and more users sign up for this wireless service which has a much higher penetration than PCs and consoles the figures are expected to reach about $450 million by 2012. The growing demand in India is further evident by the fact that EA Mobile, a part of the world’s largest game developer Electronic Arts has shown great interest in the Indian market

EA Mobile would launch 15 of its hit mobile games in India next month in a tie up with Airtel and Vodafone. It will also start developing games for the Indian market and is aggressively working to acquire some of the Bollywood, and Indian cricketer franchise according to a report in the Economic times.
